Stunning chain maille Byzantine Weave necklace created with Bronze rings, which is a bit heavier than some other metals, but I also used green annodized aluminum rings as well, so it's not horribly heavy, but heavier than it looks! The centerpiece is a combo of Byzantine Weave and my own thing, the center has a faceted glass bead, the dangle is a Czech Glass Teardrop. The clasp is a goldplated Mag-Loc Magnetic Clasp. This is a truly GORGEOUS necklace, the Bronze makes it very "rich" looking, a really stunning piece!

Bronze was highly prized by the ancient Celts, and much of their jewelry, tools, and decorative arts were rendered in bronze. Bronze is considered a protective metal, and is used to shield the bearer from harmful energies and to reflect negative energy. "Bronze was first developed about 4800 B.C. in Egypt where a metalworker found that by mixing tin with copper he could make a harder more durable alloy which we know today as Bronze".
