The symbol of the "Healing Hand" is one of a healer. The spiral in the center is often to represent those that perform Reiki or some other spiritual "hands on" type of healing, as spirals are representative of the universe and that
which is unending. Healing by energy or laying of hands has been a part of human history for millenia. Chakras are seven energy centers located in our physical bodies, with correlating colors and energies for those areas. The Charkas go in this order:

Each energy center oversees a specific area of health, both physical and emotional. Chakra work is a key element in many of the Eastern Faiths and is getting more popular among Western faiths as well.
